pink slip
For the first time in my career, the pink slip found me.
This morning (10/31/2016), the engineering VP from France made the announcement to the involved people that, based on a "business decision", two concepting teams will be terminated. And, I am in one of them.
Although, the "business decision" to trim the local team I worked for is continuously speculated and expected, but when the announcement was made to the team, it still is a quite shocking.
It is a mixed feeling - in one sense, the expected finally came which should not be a surprise. In another sense, the feeling that this company is short-sighted and not willing to spend on concepting upsets me somehow. Well, accepting the fact and moving on.
BTW, I didn't receive a pink slip, rather, HR staff handed me an exit package in a folder.
