Cannot Install Hardware, Access Is Denied

I ran into a problem where in every WindowsXP boot-up and it complaints about "Cannot Install Hardware, access is denied". After did some Googling, I found this interesting article. I tried the technique described in this article and was able to identify which Registry entry is causing the problem.

This article offers a very nice trick when your Windows refuses to install any hardware. Be forwarned that this is for computer-literated people. There are also risk involves manipulating Windows registry content.

I ended up deleting the offending Registry entry and was hoping that would resolve the issue, but it DIDN'T.
After more Googling, I am trying another approach (the built-in system restore) and will see how it goes...

Forgot to update this post. Actually, the built-in system restore works like a champ. Highly recommend using system restore to create "restore point" periodically or before installing any software.
