survivor (again)
Technically, there is no lay-off or let-go, but the atmosphere surrounding simply makes you feel this way.
People in this site (around 40 in total) are divided into two groups and called into two separate meetings. One group goes to the earlier meeting where people are offered the same position/compensation, but asked to relocate to east coast office; while the other group is offered to moved to another organization located in a nearby office.
It is hard to imagine how many people in the first group will accept the offer? For most of them, this is almost no difference than a lay-off.
A very distressing event and a sad day.
